About the Hostel

Tucked into the rocky outcrops at the north end of the island, Iona Hostel, on the croft of Lagandorain, has spectacular views to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles, and beyond Rhum to the Black Cullins of Skye.

This land has been worked for generations, creating the familiar Hebridean patchwork of wildflower meadow, crops and grazing land, and home to an amazing variety of plants and birds.

We offer quiet sanctuary for those that seek it, while being in easy reach of island activities.
The hostel is simply and comfortably furnished. It has five bedrooms (sleeping 2-6 in bunk beds), plenty of showers, a drying room and a wonderful open-plan kitchen/living space with a woodburning stove.

Iona Hostel is well-reviewed and rated. We provide bedlinen and offer you a warm welcome. Pre booking is always recommended!

We have a gold award from the Green Tourism Business scheme. Find out more about the scheme here.

Thank you for providing such a lovely peaceful place for myself & Cheyenne to stay. Cheyenne loved being able to help with the sheep. We cant wait to come back & stay. We much prefered the hostel to our caravan, the lack of electricity made the stay more exciting and as our friends on Mull were in the cold and without electric we had the warmth of the pot bellied stove and were really cosy tucked up in bed. Hope to see you soon xx Em & Chey
