Sand-blasting

November 20, 2013

A fabulous day on Iona. Just back from a walk on the beach with Snuffy with a storm blowing in from the north. Totally exhilarating – like being on laughing gas! The wind force flattens the waves and the blowing sand and spume scour your face  -not sure what Snuffy makes of it, but she seemed delighted. Marc, in the meantime, calmly does a little force 9 fence building for relaxation.

Wow! What beautiful photos John. Exquisite!

Was actually thinking of you earlier and wondering how you are faring on the lovely Iona as winter arrives. Those stormy skies and seas are glorious! I am having a cosy catch up morning beside my log fire here in Ballachulish. The rain has stopped and the sky is now blue so I think I will venture out shortly for a blast of freshness.

    Love to you and Snuffy

      Hi Kshema,

Thanks for writing and it was lovely to catch up with you on the phone. Hopefully I’ll see you before too long.

Gorgeous pictures, John! You captured the thrill of being in the wild elements. I would love to get myself to the hostel sometime in these winter off season months; it seems extraordinary! Sending love!
